Margaret has over 40 years of experience in the Hospitality industry. Her career started in London England after she completed her City and Guilds in Hospitality.
The 23 years with Starwood Hotels saw her progress through Rooms Division, TQM, Director of Operations, Six Sigma, Hotel Manager and Regional Procurement. She has managed over $100M of renovation for various Starwood Hotels and oversaw the Engineering department. She has been part of various task forces opening hotels and assisting hotels during transition. She was also part of the Westin Brand team assisting in Six Sigma project globally to develop brand standards and ensure compliance. She is certified trainer and has provided various training programs in several hotels.
In 2011, she left Starwood to develop her own business, The Ready Group Inc, which provided consulting to the Hospitality Industry and Project Management to the Hospitality Workers Training Centre developing and delivering training. She also developed Connect for the Best, an interactive web site aimed at connecting workers seeking supplementary hours with employers needing on call staffing.
Margaret started as a consultant at CK and was eventually invited to join the company on a full-time basis. In CK, she managed capital projects, developed service standards and introduced process changes. She managed the reopening and repositioning of the Walper Hotel after it underwent over $15M of renovation.
Margaret’s strength is in operations, training, product development and coaching.
